| Kursbeschreibung: | Ukrainian has been and is an integral tool for the preservation of the Ukrainian state and its consolidation as a sovereign nation. In this sense, mastering at least some basic knowledge of communicating in Ukrainian is an act of solidarity with the Ukrainians. In this course, you will become acquainted with the basics of speaking, reading and writing in Ukrainian. You will obtain some elementary skills to understand Ukrainian in order to feel much more comfortable when communicating with Ukrainian expatriates or in case you decide to travel to Ukraine after peace is restored. Together, we will learn how to introduce ourselves in Ukrainian, buy souvenirs and other items in Ukrainian shops, to distinguish the names of major cities and public transport stations and to get help from locals when searching for historical and cultural sights. During class, you will also have the opportunity to become acquainted with some of the most the most famous Ukrainian artistic and cultural facts and learn about interesting episodes in Ukrainian history. |
